Dental Bonding
A smile is the number one facial feature that helps create a positive and lasting impression about you in people’s minds. A beautiful, healthy smile can literarily change your life by helping you in your career, dating and boosting your self-esteem.
If you have cracked, chipped, misshapen, discolored or stained teeth you no longer have to settle for these facial imperfections. Dental bonding is a painless in-office procedure that can be used to help enhance your smile. Dental bonding is performed by applying a natural-colored composite resin to the front surface of teeth and hardening it with a special high-intensity light. The composite bonding material is developed in many shades allowing the dentist to match the shade of your natural teeth. With the special light, the dentist hardens the composite resin before sculpting, trimming and shaping it to provide a natural appearance and feel.
Bonding can often be done without anesthesia if there is no decay or pulp exposure and the procedure takes between 30 and 60 minutes to complete. You can leave and resume work immediately after the procedure.
Dental bonding materials are very durable and can last about five to ten years. The resin is generally stain-resistant and no special care is necessary beyond brushing and flossing your teeth regularly.
