Hands-on Training: Hands-On II
There are many advantages to fabrication provisional restorations indirectly. In addition to delegating this task to a lab assistant, which will free the time for the doctor to be more productive, the finished restorations can be refined with a remarkable result. Techniques for fabrication of indirect provisional restorations are discussed and performed in a hands-on course. The use of impressions, model and stint preparation, application of cement spacer and separator, and mixing and curing of methyl methacrylate are reviewed and performed. Indexing, adding additional material, trimming, finishing and polishing are also reviewed and performed. The participant will be familiar with the techniques and steps to construct, trim and polish beautiful indirect provisional restorations.
